The Destroyers is a symphonic folk outfit from Birmingham, England that was founded in 2006. Making a multi-layered style of traditional and modern folk, the band employs an assortment of obscure instruments, like the hurdy gurdy and the accordion, to provide its sound with a distinctively vintage sounding sonic aesthetic. The group released its debut LP, Out of Babel, in 2009 and the album helped solidify The Destroyers' role as one of its generation's more innovative folk acts.
