Berlin-based, Italian born Caterina Barbieri began her musical career as the bassist for Italian band Vertigini, which toured extensively for six years. Barbieri decided to branch off from the group and started her solo project MissinCat, as a quirky, indie folk-pop songstress. Winning the chance to play at the Heineken Jammin Festival in Italy alongside Pearl Jam and Interpol, MissinCat grabbed the attention of the industry and was asked to open for Amy Winehouse on her European tour. MissinCat has since released her debut album to critical acclaim and had her song "Back on My Feet" featured on a Nintendo DS commercial.
