Maya Vik is a Norwegian singer/songwriter and musician who first rose to prominence playing bass in the Scandinavian electropop group Montee. Vik has since launched a solo career as a  pop singer, beginning with her 2011 debut album, Chateau Faux-Coupe. With a style that harks back to the glory days when pop warriors with shimmering production and soaring vocals ruled the charts during the 1980s, Vik's international popularity only continues to grow as each consecutively impressive album of hers is released.
