Louis Hayes is a jazz drummer from Detroit who has distinguished himself as one of America's premier jazz drummers over his decades long career. Getting his start in the 1950s, playing with the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, Hayes would eventually serve as band leader of his own outfit and release his self titled debut album in 1960. Since then, Hayes has kept active, releasing additional LPs and keeping a regular performance schedule.
