Deeming himself the "artistic mole" because he digs deeply and leaves behind a fertile mound of earth wherever he goes, Jan Koch plays quiet acoustic folk with lyrics in his native German tongue. Born and raised in Tübingen, Germany, Koch decided after college to move to his country's artistic capital, Berlin. Here he played more and more gigs, finally releasing his debut album in 2005. Finding moderate success as one of Berlin's modern bohemians, Koch has since released three more albums and continues to tour throughout Germany.
