Cedric Mason is the stage name for Jaime Russel, an electronic musician and DJ based on the Spanish-governed island of Ibiza, whose reputation was made as a result of his work in rural Southern England's burgeoning early rave scene. Inspired by his father's collection of underground dance mixtapes from the 1980s and 1990s, Cedric Mason has not only grounded himself in the history of underground dance music's roots in Chicago and Detroit, but uses his extensive knowledge to inform his own uniquely original and thoroughly modern approach to mixing. Cedric Maison has since set up the collective Hypercolour with good friend Alex Jones, which is growing to become one of England's premier sources for relatively unknown, though extremely talented DJs from around the world.
