About
Brian Blade is a jazz drummer and singer/songwriter from Shreveport, Louisiana. Making his first foray into music as a gospel singer at a Baptist church, Blade would eventually pick up the drums and become inspired by rhythms greats John Coltrane, Charlie Parker and Miles Davis. Blade released his debut album, Brian Blade Fellowship, in 1998 and since then he has continued to release music as a band leader at a regular rate in addition to serving as a collaborator with Marc Johnson and Ron Miles.
