Tiny Boxes

By blending various styles of jam rock, funk and bluegrass, the North Carolina-based group Tiny Boxes has managed to carve out a solid niche for itself. Formed in 2011, the band has been creating a name for itself with improvisation heavy live shows that occasionally feature sit-in performances by Umphrey's McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins and Kofi Burbridge from the Derek Trucks Band. Singer/songwriter Bon Lozaga founded Boxes while looking for a cast of studio musicians to help him record a solo album. After a quintet formed, the members realized the dynamics of their playing was special enough to make Tiny Boxes a full-time endeavor.
