The Split Livers is the collaborative project of Danny Barnes and Wayne Gottstine, respectively from alternative/acoustic bands Bad Livers and Split Lip Rayfield. The pair combines their appreciation for country, punk, jazz fusion and folk music to create a cross-genre alternative rock sounds, largely anchored in Gottsine's ability to incorporate his banjo into any style, that is completely their own. The Split Livers brought its acoustic fusion music to the Midwest on its debut tour in 2012.
