A historic asset to Yeovil, on the Somerset/Dorset border in the UK, the Yeovil Town Band is a traditional brass band that competes in national competitions with much success. Initially forming as a part of the Yeovil Riffle Corps in 1860, the band continued in the military vein until 1926. Since then, the band has expanded and condensed, always playing, but only recently in the '90s did the band begin winning national brass band championships. Currently under the conductors of Kevin Robbins and Dave Barringer, the band continues to compete and garner national acclaim.
