Arkona

Arkona is a Russian metal band that was founded in 2002. Spending its formative years playing a number of shows--honing its sound and songwriting approach--the band would develop a unique style that blends lyrics about Russian folklore and Slavic mythology with hard rock stylings as well as a number of traditional Russian instrumental accompaniments. The group released its debut LP, Vozrozhdeniye, in 2004 to widespread critical laudation.
