Sharing band members and often the stage with fellow Los Angeles futurepop group Imperative Reaction, system syn began releasing music in '97. Focusing on intensely emotional lyrics, and impeccable live performances, the band appealed to the slowly growing emo scene at the time, forming the foundation for the popular movement in the early 2000's. The band continues to perform and release albums today.
