Maxim Vengerov is a conductor and musician who is known for his emotional work on string instruments. Born in the Soviet Union and raised in Israel, he studied violin and distinguished himself by winning prestigious competitions like the 1990 International Carl Flesch Competition in London. He went on to become a renowned soloist with performances with ensembles like the BBC Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony. Vengerov has also branched out from the classical world, as he is also known for his jazz improvisation.
