Kiwi soul band The Black Seeds might hail from New Zealand, but the group has its musical roots firmly planted some 7000 miles away - in Africa. With an affinity for afrobeat, funk and dub, The Black Seeds create music that may be out of place in New Zealand, but has a genuine world beat flavor. With founding band members going onto start Flight of the Concords and Fly My Pretties, The Black Seeds has suffered lineup changes, but has consistently stood by its soulful sound.
