Banco de Gaia is an English electronic music group that was formed in 1989. Categorized as ambient music, Banco de Gaia incorporates elements of Middle Eastern folk, reggae and rock into its nebulous sound, helping distinguish the band's slightly ambiguous musical style. The group released its debut album, Maya, in 1994 and has since continued to release albums fairly regularly in addition maintaining a regular performance schedule.
