Anti-folk songwriter Isaac Gillespie is the mastermind behind The Due Diligence, a project born in 2009 out of a jam session between Gillespie and Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart. After Gillespie assembled a supporting cast from members of acts such as the Shivers and Relatives, The Due Diligence captured its earthy songwriting and funky rhythms on its 2011 debut album, I Will Wreck Your Life. Covering themes of failed relationships and recovering after break ups, the album is smart and sarcastic effort that highlights Gillespie's anti-folk sensibility.
