Keith Johnstone is an educator, playwright, actor and director from the UK who is considered a pioneer of improvisational theater. he invented the Impro System, which includes Theatresports, Maestro Impro, Gorilla Theatre and The Life Game. He has written two best-selling books about his iconic system, Impro: Improvisation and the Theatre, released in 1979, and Impro for Storytellers, released in 1999. He founded England's Theater Machine Improvisation group in 1960, and the company continues to tour throughout Europe and North America. Johnstone is also the Co-founder and Artistic Director of The Loose Theater Company, in Calgary, CA and also founded the International Theatersport Institute in 1998.
