The French musician Sanseverino has managed to do something entirely unique to American folk music: put a French spin on it. With mandolins and fiddles, Sanseverino crafts tunes that sound like they were made by some backwoods country crooner living in the Appalachian Mountains. But instead of some hillbilly yokel singing, there's a smooth Frenchman keeping pace with tasteful vocal accompaniments. The singer's tendencies to mix playful lyrics into his tunes - creating lighthearted ditties - is Sanseverino's calling card and his songs have been embraced by the French and non-French all over the world.
