Primarily a comedy, Couscous Aux Lardons - literally translated as Couscous with Bacon - is a short French play that presents a mixed racial and religious couple before their wedding. Comedy ensues when the couple's opposing families from very different backgrounds discuss, without restraint, their differing opinions on the various aspects of relationships, marriage and children. While the issue of mixed marriage is a pertinent one in France, the play manages to address it with humor, shedding light on a controversial topic.
