With an almost uncanny ability to write memorable tunes with heartfelt conviction and tactful grace, French singer/songwriter Hugues Aufray has proven to be one of the more talented songsmiths to emerge from Europe. He competed in the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest and despite losing that contest, Aufray stuck to his guns, continued to make music and eventually became one of France's more esteemed musical exports.
