During his lifetime, Compay Segundo managed to help pioneer a unique form of Cuban music with the help of his Trova guitar playing. Though his peak was in the 50s, Segundo experienced a career resurgence after he was featured in the documentary film The Buena Vista Social Club. Though Segundo died in 2007, his music continues to live on and Grupo Compay Segundo tours, recreating the magical music that Segundo helped plant the seeds for.
