Pert Near Sandstone is a bluegrass band from Minneapolis, Minnesota that has managed to establish itself with a decidedly modern and raucous style of American folk music. Part of the Minnesota roots music scene that includes Trampled by Turtles and Charlie Parr, since Pert Near Sandstone released its debut album, Up and Down the River, in 2007 the group has shared the scene with music notables like Del McCoury, Wilco and Yonder Mountain String Band.
