La Vela Puerca is a band from Montevideo, Uruguay that was formed in 1995. Playing a unique style of ska that's flavored with tinges of Latin-rock, La Vela Puerca has been hailed as one of the more inventive reggae leaning acts of its generation. Though the band's primary following is in Uruguay, it has also managed to find a surprisingly large following in Germany
