Bad Lieutenant

To the casual listener, the English rock band Bad Lieutenant might sound like just another run-of-the-mill alternative rock outfit, but the more you dig deeply into the group's sound, the more rewarding the group's material becomes. It was formed in 2007 when former New Order singer Bernard Sumner decided to strike out on his own and form a new musical project. Though the band has a slightly predictable sound, the interesting approach to songwriting that the group employs more than offsets the outfits tendency to fall into banal, trivial territory.
