Essex County Cricket Club was founded in 1876 and is currently one of the first-class clubs that compete in the County Championship, which is the premier cricket competition in England and Wales. The club represents the county of Essex in the championship and it plays home games at the County Ground in Chelmsford. Throughout the club’s extensive history, it has won the prestigious County Championship numerous times. It also holds multiple Pro 40 League titles, Friends Provident Trophies, Benson & Hedges Cups and more. To make all this possible, the club has always armed itself with many skilled players.
