Manchester-based singer/songwriter Ren Harvieu is an indie pop/soul artist whose fame came about in the traditional social media age way. After manager Paul Harrison listened to the demos she had uploaded to Myspace, he brought her to London to record music and tour with the indie rock band Glasvegas. She recorded and released the single "Through the Night," but her debut album was delayed when she suffered a life-threatening injury to her spine in 2011. While recovering Harvieu was nominated for the BBC Sounds of 2012 poll for her singles, and eventually released Through the Night, in 2012 with a neo soul-inspired pop sound.
