Luckily there are drummers like Ari Hoenig who are keen to actually listen to what the other musicians on stage are doing and play accordingly. Though Hoenig is considered a jazz drummer, he's played with a wide swath of musicians and can adapt to nearly ever genre. His live rhythmic flourishes are extremely poignant and a concert featuring Mr. Hoenig is a spectacle not to be missed.
