About

Composer, vocalist and multi-intrumentalist Loreena McKennitt is a world music artist known for her Celtic and Middle Eastern influences. With her crystal clear soprano, she released her debut album Elemental, on her own label Quinlan Road in 1985. Her ethereal sound, built by her piano, harp and accordion expertise, continued to develop layers and textures with every release, including her 1991 effort, The Visit as well as her 1994 record the Mask and Mirror, which both took home the Juno Award for Best Roots/Traditional Album during their respective release years. Having sold over 14 million albums world wide, McKennit has solidified an international audience and earned the Billboard Music Award for International Achievement in 1997 as well as the Western Canadian Music Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
