Hailing from Belfast, Stiff Little Fingers is a punk band that has been active since 1977, during the heyday of punk and the height of political tension between Northern Ireland and England. The band originally started out as a rock group, doing cover songs, until discovering punk. Drawing from the turmoil the band's members were experiencing in their homeland, the group used music as creative outlet to channel their frustrations through. Stiff Little Finger has since risen to rock and roll stardom with a series of independent hits in the late 1970s and 1980s. Despite breaking up several times and the reforming its line-up along the way, Stiff Little Fingers continues to record and perform.
