Izia Higelin is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who performs under her stagename Izia. After assembling a backing band of four musicians, she released her debut EP in 2006 and embarked on a tour of France that began with an opening gig for Iggy &the Stooges at the Printemps de Bourges music festival. Her self-titled debut album was released in 2009, and Izia earned praise for her raucous and raw voice.
