Shana Falana

Initially starting her musical career in the San Francisco Bay Area, Shana Falana has a diverse musical resume, with gigs as a part of a Bulgarian women's choir, rock operas and as Kelly Stoltz' drummer. After deciding to start her own solo career, Falana relocated to Brooklyn, but had difficulty finding her own place in the city and found herself succumbing to a drug addiction. Falana pulled through, however and moved to upstate New York, where she rediscovered her roots and released her "In the Light" EP. The singer/songwriter's style showcases her diverse background, incorporating folksy vocals with a hefty dose of reverb, lyrics that tell of a dark past, and a good amount of dramatic crescendos and looping. Because of this diversity and Falana's genuine talent, her music stands out amongst the other hordes of New York indie singer/songwriters.
