With female vocals and punchy guitar arrangements, English alt rock band The Joy Formidable has managed to capture the gaze of the indie rock elite and become one of the more interesting groups in recent memory. The trio got its start in 2007 and quickly became one of the more talked about bands to arise out of the UK in the past few years, releasing its debut EP in 2010 to widespread acclaim. Though it has latched onto a sizable fan base in Europe, the group has failed to attract attention in the United States, something the band hopes to change with more touring.
