Deine Lakaien is a German dark wave band, consisting of the Macedonian vocalist Alexander Veljanov and the classically trained composer, pianist and drummer Ernst Horn. They formed in 1985 after Veljanov responded to an ad in a magazine that Horn posted looking for a "vocalist who enjoys experimenting." The name Deine Lakaien (which translates to "Your Lackeys") came from a song by the German band Einstürzende Neubauten. The band's music unifies dark wave and pop music with some influences of avant-garde.
