About
Smalltown DJs is a duo composed of Pete Emes and Mike Grimes, two Calgary-based producers rose out of the early 1990s rave culture and the parallel scenes of hip-hop block parties and community hall punk shows. After teaming up in 1999, Smalltown DJs quickly rose to recognition in Calgary's underground community for founding and hosting the ongoing weekly party series Hai Karate.
