This San Francisco-based trio brings a melange of punk, rock, dub, afro-beat and alternative to the table in their special breed of high energy, modern music. Signed to indie label Thrill Jockey, Mi Ami represents the direction of contemporary music: a boundary-shattering embrace of many different genres of music spanning continents, decades and styles. Their many-layered style emerges from their punk and hardcore roots, merged with a heavily digested background of dub and pan-African music.
