I Am the Avalanche is a post-hardcore group from New York City that was founded in 2004. Not a band to waste time, shortly after forming, it entered the studio to record its self-titled 2005 debut album. Though the group initially started off with a distinctive pop punk style, as it has matured, I am the Avalanche has adopted a more melodically-driven hardcore sound.
