Cha Wa is a funk band from New Orleans that was founded in 2010. Incorporating a number of soul and R&B elements into its sonic foray, the group creates a propulsive, groove-based sound that translates extremely well in a live setting. The band's name translated from a slang phrase used by Mardi Gras Indian tribes means "we're coming for ya," and after hearing the group's infectious style of funk, listeners tend to surrender to the music and let the blissful Cha Wha sound wash over them.
