In the '80s Mike Joyce was the drummer for the seminal mope rock outfit The Smiths. After the group disbanded Joyce went on to achieve moderate success as a session musician with a number of groups ranging from Public Image Limited, Buzzcocks and Sinead O'Connor. His rhythmic flourishes and knack for polyrhythmic grooves is extremely impressive and whether he's playing solo or backing someone he's sure to demonstrate an impressive knowledge of tonal shifts and percussion adeptness.
