When most people think of the British roots rock band Dire Straits, the band's extremely gifted guitarist Mark Knopfler tends to come to mind. What a good majority of people don't realize is that the group also had another very talented musician named John Illsley who played bass and served as somewhat of a producer for the group. Even though his talents typically lie within the studio, Illsley is also a very talented instrumentalist and after Dire Straits broke up he's spent a good deal of time on the road bringing his style of classic/soft rock to the masses.
