Born into a musical family, Ami Williamson is the daughter of famed Australian country singer John Williamson. Fittingly, she developed an interest in performing arts at a young age, becoming a classically trained pianist and opera singer, an actress that toured with a theatre company, and finally a singer/songwriter. Williamson has managed to incorporate a good deal of her background into her live show and albums, singing an array of musical styles that are loosely grounded in singer/songwriter folk, but full of comedy and theatrics. The young Australian toured Iraq and Afghanistan, entertaining the troops, before releasing her debut album in 2010 to rave reviews.
