With a seven-member lineup and an original repertoire, Blue Heat is one of Australia's leading blues bands. Led by singer/songwriter and guitarist Marco Goldsmith, the band played its debut show, complete with a three-piece horn section, at the 1991 Ballarat Blues Festival. Blue Heat released its first album, Marooned in 1995, and took the Australian Recording Industry Association Music Award for Album of the Year. Five more albums later in 2012, Blue Heat still consists of all its original members and continues to make appearances at some of the most renowned blues and jazz festivals around the world.
