Combining folk ballads with rock and roll sensibility, Beth King & The Hemingway Collective is a folk-rock band from Australia with a lineup of six multi-instrumentalists including two lead vocalists with have a knack for captivating harmonies. Formed in 2009, the band exhausted every venue in its hometown of Melbourne before embarking on its first tour in 2010 in promotion of Powerfully, Silently, its debut album. Beth King & The Hemingway Collective's funk-inspired indie folk music is driven by both story and politically-driven lyrics, best demonstrated on the band's 2011 album Outside, Looking In.
