The April Verch Band, often referred to as AVB, is a bluegrass/folk act led by Canadian singer, fiddler and stepdancer April Verch. Inspired by the traditional folk music of the Ottawa Valley region of Ontario, Verch joined guitarist Isaac Callender and Cody Walters on upright-electric bass and bango to form the April Verch Band. The group developed a reputation for instrumental excellence as well as its passionate live shows empowered by Verch's vibrant vocals and vigorous stepdance performances.
