The Brazilian football club, Figueirense, is one of the contestants in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. The club was formed in 1921 and is based in Florianópolis, which is located in the state of Santa Catarina. The state also has its own football league, Campeonato Catarinense, and Figueirense is one of its strongest performers. By 2012, the club had won the title of Campeonato Catarinense 18 times. The home games of this club are held at the Estádio Orlando Scarpelli.
