Club Atlético Peñarol is a sports club from Montevideo, Uruguay that competes in the Liga Profesional de Primera División and plays its home matches at the Estadio Campeón del Siglo. One of the most decorated clubs in South America, it ranks third in total Copa Libertadores victories and has several major titles to its credit including the Intercontinental Cup, Uruguayan Primera Division and Supercopa Uruguaya. Chosen by IFFHS as the South American club of the century, the club has never been relegated and has featured several World Cup winners in its squad including Alcides Ghiggia, Juan Alberto Schiaffino and Lorenzo Fernández.
