Pur is a German pop band that formed in 1975, under the name Cascade, but in 1980 the band changed its name to Opus and released  two albums under this name. Unfortunately in 1985 an Austrian band with the same name released the hit single "Life is Life," which also became a big hit in Germany, and forced the band to change their name once more. Finally as Pur, they released 11 albums, becoming very popular in Germany for their soft rock and pop songs, including various romantic ballads. The band is active to this day and released the album  Wünsche (Wishes) in 2009.
