The Great Wilderness

San José, Costa Rica band The Great Wilderness is one of a number of talented indie artists coming out of San José. Inspired largely by the post-punk era in Britain, the group combines these dark, introspective sounds with elements of pop, noise and dance music. The resulting sound is one that is as dreamy as it is nightmarish, playing with the tension between consonance and dissonance. The band has quickly gained notoriety outside of San José rich music scene, and have even recorded some of their music in Portland, Oregon.
