Reyhan Şahin, also known as Lady Bitch Ray, is a female German rap artist, radio host and actor of Turkish ethnicity. She was born in Germany, studied linguistics and German studies at the University of Bremen and started rapping at the age of 12. Her work could be described as "porn rap," as it contains a lot of dirty and explicit words and revolves basically around the topic sex. Şahin claims her provocative and scandalous appearance to be a call for the emancipation of Turkish women and women in general. Also she wants to deliver a counterpoint to the majority of sexist and chauvinist German rappers, such as Bushido. Coming from a traditional Muslim background, Şahin was often verbally attacked and threatened for her work and accused to be "a shame for every Turkish woman".
