Louisville, Kentucky band Xerxes is a straight-no-chaser punk band out of the dirty south, playing dirty licks and singing about dirty tricks. Infusing the country punk styles of their home region, the group draws on both punk's in-your-face aesthetic as well as country's stripped down lyrics. Underlying all of their work though is a certain emotional intensity and honesty, bringing depth to a band that also just wants to thrash.
