Chokeules (pernounced "choke-you-leez") is a hip-hop and rap artist best known for his work with hip-hop group Toolshed. After relocating to Toronto from London, Ontario he joined the Backburner collective and began his solo career. He has since shared the stage with some of the US and Canada's most prominent underground acts. With a reputation for having an aggressive stage presence, Chokeules uses compacted wordplay to rap about modern day verses golden age hip-hop and for introspective self examinations. He released his acclaimed album Hypergraphia, which was named one of the Top 10 Albums of the year by the London Free Press, in 2009.
